Ion Activation Methods for Top‐Down Proteomics

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mass spectrometry (MS) has emerged as a premier method used to characterize the sequences of proteins. Top‐down proteomics aims to capture the multiple sources of structural diversity reflected in proteins, such as those that arise from alternative RNA splicing events or the addition of post‐translational modifications. Tandem MS (i.e., MS/MS)

El género Juniperus (Cupressaceae) en México y Guatemala: análisis numérico y morfológico

open access: yesBotan‪ical Sciences, 1975
The relationships of the 18 taxa of the genus Juniperus in Mexico and Guatemala were examined using analysis of variance, multiple range tests, and numerical taxonomic methods on the 64 morphological characters used. Four species complexes were apparent.

Recent Advances in Top‐Down Proteomics for Single‐Cell Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Individual cells have distinctive molecular characteristics, including biologically relevant proteoforms. Although single‐cell (SC) molecular omics offer unprecedented insights into cellular heterogeneity and function, the characterization of proteoforms in SCs remains an uncharted territory.

Investigating Cyber Threats in a Nuclear Power Plant

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2019
Malicious cyber-attacks are becoming increasingly prominent due to the advance of technology and attack methods over the last decade. These attacks have the potential to bring down critical infrastructures, such as nuclear power plants (NPP's), which are

Frequency of ZFHX3‐Mediated Spinocerebellar Ataxia 4 in a US Undiagnosed Ataxia Cohort

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Spinocerebellar ataxia 4 (SCA4) is a late‐onset dominant ataxia with neuropathy caused by exonic GGC repeat expansion in the ZFHX3 gene thought to originate from a Swedish founder event. The GC‐rich expansion is highly thermodynamically stable, posing challenges for standard clinical genetic testing methods.

Uncertainties around the implementation of a clearing-control policy in a unique catchment in northern Australia: exploring equity issues and balancing competing objectives.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Land use change is the most significant driver linked to global species extinctions. In Northern Australia, the landscape is still relatively intact with very low levels of clearing.

Hydroxamic Acids as HDAC Inhibitor Drug Leads for Malaria

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Malaria is a global health threat, with an estimated 282 million cases and 610,000 malaria‐associated deaths reported in 2024. Most mortality is due to infection by Plasmodium falciparum parasites, with the highest burden occurring in Sub‐Saharan Africa.

Ultrasound‐Confirmed Median Nerve Pseudoconduction Block due to Anatomical Variation

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Conduction block (CB) at non‐entrapment sites is an important electrodiagnostic (EDX) feature supporting acquired demyelinating neuropathies. However, anatomical variation may produce pseudoconduction block, mimicking true CB.
