Extremizing temperature functions of rods with Robin boundary conditions
We compare the solutions of two one-dimensional Poisson problems on an interval with Robin boundary conditions, one with given data, and one where the data has been symmetrized. When the Robin parameter is positive and the symmetrization is symmetric decreasing rearrangement, we prove that the solution to the symmetrized problem has larger increasing ...

The spectral function μˆ(t)=∑j=1∞exp(−itμj1/2), where {μj}j=1∞ are the eigenvalues of the two-dimensional negative Laplacian, is studied for small |t| for a variety of domains, where −∞

Using Sklyanin's classical theory of integrable boundary conditions, we use the Hamiltonian approach to derive new integrable boundary conditions for the Ablowitz–Ladik model on the finite and half infinite lattice.

Superradiance in the BTZ black hole with Robin boundary conditions
We show the existence of superradiant modes of massive scalar fields propagating in BTZ black holes when certain Robin boundary conditions, which never include the commonly considered Dirichlet boundary conditions, are imposed at spatial infinity.

On the p-Laplacian with Robin boundary conditions and boundary trace theorems [PDF]
Let $ \subset\mathbb{R}^ $, $ \ge 2$, be a $C^{1,1}$ domain whose boundary $\partial $ is either compact or behaves suitably at infinity. For $p\in(1,\infty)$ and $ >0$, define \[ ( ,p, ):=\inf_{\substack{u\in W^{1,p}( )\\ u\not\equiv 0}}\dfrac{\displaystyle \int_ |\nabla u|^p \mathrm{d} x - \displaystyle\int_{\partial } |u|^p\mathrm{d}

We investigate the scalar perturbation around a rotating Einstein-bumblebee BTZ black hole under Robin boundary conditions. It is shown that the relationship curves between real and imaginary parts of scalar quasinormal modes in the complex plane depend ...

Modelling Angiogenesis Under Robin Boundary Conditions
AbstractIn this study, we show an example of a numerical model based on the Keller–Segel system of equations to simulate angiogenesis in response to chemotaxis under Robin boundary conditions, which represent the presence of flux at the tumor. Different parameters of the model are modified to identify key biological factors relevant to the behavior of ...

Effect of boundary conditions on the dynamics of a pulsesolution for reaction-diffusion systems
We consider pulse-like localized solutions for reaction-diffusion systems ona half line and impose various boundary conditions at one end of it.It is shown that the movement of a pulse solutionwith the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition is completely

Equivalent Robin boundary conditions for acoustic and elastic media [PDF]
We present equivalent conditions and asymptotic models for a diffraction problem of acoustic and elastic waves. The mathematical problem is set with a Robin boundary condition. Elastic and acoustic waves propagate in a solid medium surrounded by a thin layer of fluid medium. Due to the thinness of the layer with respect to the wavelength, this problem

Stability analysis and simulations of coupled bulk-surface reaction–diffusion systems [PDF]
In this article, we formulate new models for coupled systems of bulk-surface reaction–diffusion equations on stationary volumes. The bulk reaction–diffusion equations are coupled to the surface reaction–diffusion equations through linear Robin-type ...
