Development of Aluminum Scandium Alloys for Hydrogen Storage Valves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Different aluminum alloy series and various aluminum‐scandium alloys with differing Sc and Zr levels are evaluated for use in hydrogen storage valve production. The alloys undergo hardness testing, optical microscopy, and tensile strength analysis, with hardening behavior studied under varying conditions.

Patterned Assembly of Transition Metal Dichalcogenide/Graphene Heterostructures via Direct Laser Writing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The fabrication of patterned transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD)/graphene heterostructures via direct laser writing reveals new interface chemistry and enables efficient, customizable assembly. Selective laser irradiation of functionalized TMD/graphene triggers localized reactions, forming chemically modified interfaces.

Casimir effect for scalar current densities in topologically nontrivial spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We evaluate the Hadamard function and the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the current density for a charged scalar field, induced by flat boundaries in spacetimes with an arbitrary number of toroidally compactified spatial dimensions.

The Heat Transfer Problem in a Non-Convex Body—A New Procedure for Constructing Solutions

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
The subject of this work is the coupled steady-state conduction-radiation-convection heat transfer phenomenon in a non-convex blackbody, which is represented by a second-order partial differential equation (representing the heat conduction inside the ...

Approximation of the Semigroup generated by the Robin Laplacian in terms of the Gaussian Semigroup [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, Volume 257, Issue 5, 2009, Pages 1429-1444, 2008
For smooth bounded open sets in euclidean space, we construct corresponding contractive linear extension operators for the space of continuous functions which preserve regularity of functions in the domain of the Robin Laplacian. We also prove a Trotter-like approximation for the semigroup generated by the Laplacian subject to Robin boundary conditions

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Boundary Data Maps for Schrodinger Operators on a Compact Interval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We provide a systematic study of boundary data maps, that is, 2 \times 2 matrix-valued Dirichlet-to-Neumann and more generally, Robin-to-Robin maps, associated with one-dimensional Schrodinger operators on a compact interval [0,R] with separated boundary

Vat Photopolymerization of High Molecular Weight Polymer Latexes with Pseudothermoplastic Properties for Recyclability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A photocurable latex system enables high‐resolution vat photopolymerization of water‐dispersed thermoplastics, yielding pseudothermoplastic materials with recyclability. The formulation permits precise control over mechanical properties and supports reprocessing through conventional and extrusion‐based methods. Compatibility with two‐photon 3D printing

Eigenstructure of the equilateral triangle. Part III. The Robin problem

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2004
Lamé's formulas for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Laplacian on an equilateral triangle under Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are herein extended to the Robin boundary condition.

The Pauli equation with complex boundary conditions

open access: yes, 2012
We consider one-dimensional Pauli Hamiltonians in a bounded interval with possibly non-self-adjoint Robin-type boundary conditions. We study the influence of the spin-magnetic interaction on the interplay between the type of boundary conditions and the ...
