Evaluation of Collision Detection and Reaction for a Human-Friendly Robot on Biological Tissues

open access: yes, 2008
Up to now, mostly blunt human-robot impacts were investigated in the robotics literature. In this context, the influence of robot mass and velocity during rigid impacts with and without the possibility of the human being clamped was quantified.

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

A Spinor Method of Solution of Manipulators’ Inverse Kinematics Problem with Rotational Pairs

open access: yes
A new method and algorithm of solution of multijoint manipulators with rotational pairs inverse kinematic problem was created. The method is based on the principally new approach-spinor representation of the spatial generalized rotations.

Vibration Suppression Control of a Space Robot with Flexible Appendages Based on Simple Dynamic Model

open access: yes, 2013
This paper discusses a vibration suppression control method for a space robot with a rigid manipulator and flexible appendage. A suitable dynamic model that considers the coupling between the manipulator and flexible appendage was developed for the ...

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Two Cooperating Manipulators with Fractional Controllers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2010
This paper analyzes the dynamic performance of two cooperative robot manipulators. It is studied the implementation of fractional-order algorithms in the position/force control of two cooperating robotic manipulators holding an object.

A Versatile C++ Toolbox for Model Based, Real Time Control Systems of Robotic Manipulators

open access: yes, 2001
Model based technologies form the core of advanced robotic applications such as model predictive control and feedback linearization. More sophisticated models result in higher quality but the use in embedded real-time control systems imposes strict ...

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...
