Robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy in a renal transplant

open access: yesUrology Video Journal, 2021
Renal transplant recipients are at greater risk for malignancy than the general population. Historical management of renal cell carcinoma in a renal allograft has been open radical nephrectomy, but over time, graft-preserving and minimally-invasive ...

Next‐Generation Surgery: Integrating Artificial Intelligence, Genetic Technologies, Bioengineering and Rehabilitation Into Modern Practices

open access: yesExploration, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2026.
This graphic abstract depicts the convergence of artificial intelligence, genetic technologies, bioengineering, and rehabilitation as the core pillars of next‐generation surgery. These domains collectively enhance preoperative planning, intraoperative precision, tissue reconstruction, and postoperative recovery, driving a paradigm shift toward ...

What's new in robotic partial nephrectomy

open access: yes, 2019
Robot assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) is a minimally invasive option for patients with small renal masses undergoing partial nephrectomy. In this review we provide an update on the oncological safety and renal functional outcomes following RAPN.

Tumour‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Reprogramme Tumour‐Associated Macrophages Into Immunosuppressive Phenotype via NOD1 Signalling in Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC)‐derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a pivotal role in myeloid cell differentiation toward immunosuppressive phenotypes, yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Through integrated single‐nucleus RNA sequencing, EV proteomics, and phenotype validation, we identified NOD1, a pattern ...

Epigenetic Regulation in Cardiovascular Diseases: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Environmental and lifestyle exposures reshape the cardiovascular epigenome through coordinated regulation of DNA methylation, histone modifications, noncoding RNAs, and RNA methylation (m6A). These multilayered mechanisms drive enhancer‐centered regulatory network remodeling and epigenomic plasticity in cardiovascular diseases, highlighting emerging ...

What Are the Limitations of Measuring Bladder Compliance, As the Sole Indicator of Future Risk to the Upper Urinary Tract and Renal Function? ICI‐RS 2025

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, Volume 45, Issue 5, Page 861-868, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Maintenance of bladder filling and urinary storage at low intravesical pressures is fundamental to minimizing risk to the upper urinary tract. Bladder compliance describes the relationship between the bladder volume and the change in detrusor pressure during the filling phase of urodynamics.

Tubular Omega‐3 Fatty Acid Receptor FFAR4 Deficiency Aggravated Renal Aging and Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study illustrates that omega‐3 PUFAs with their receptor FFAR4 alleviate tubular senescence and fibrosis in aged and fibrotic kidneys. Furthermore, we indicate that tubular FFAR4 improves renal senescence via 15d‐PGJ2‐PPARγ‐Klotho signaling, and suppresses kidney fibrosis by senescent tubular cell‐driven fibroblast activation.

A comparison of outcomes regarding robotic versus open partial nephrectomy.

open access: yes, 2013
441 Background: The latest SEER Cancer Statistics estimated that 60,920 new cases of kidney cancer were diagnosed in 2011 in the United States. The standard of care for small renal masses has transitioned from radical to partial nephrectomy with strong

Empowering choices: insights from healthcare professionals on shared decision‐making in kidney cancer

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 137, Issue 6, Page 1000-1013, June 2026.
Objective To explore the perspectives of healthcare professionals (HCPs) on what enables or hinders shared decision‐making (SDM) in everyday small renal masses (SRM) management. Subjects and Methods A systematic literature search was conducted, which informed a structured discussion guide.
