Fine‐grained multi‐path channel estimation and matched reception by single metasurface antenna

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper investigates methods to enhance antenna's channel information extraction capabilities in wireless communications, particularly in challenging multi‐path environments. Focusing on the issues of channel information loss due to multi‐path superposition at the receiver and multi‐path fading during wireless channel propagation, this paper ...

Deep multi‐agent RL for anti‐jamming and inter‐cell interference mitigation in NOMA networks

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
Four multi‐agent reinforcement learning algorithms: Q‐learning based unselfish (QLU), deep QLU, hot booting deep QLU, and decreased state deep QLU. We also provide a game‐theoretic analysis that demonstrates the algorithms' convergence to the optimal network‐wide strategy with high probability.

Co-channel Interference Cancellation for Space-Time Coded OFDM Systems Using Adaptive Beamforming and Null Deepening [PDF]

open access: yesRaungrong Suleesathira, "Co-channel Interference Cancellation for Space-Time Coded OFDM Systems Using Adaptive Beamforming and Null Deepening", Journal of Telecommunications, Volume 1, Issue 1, pp6-13, February 2010, 2010
Combined with space-time coding, the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system explores space diversity. It is a potential scheme to offer spectral efficiency and robust high data rate transmissions over frequency-selective fading channel.

KLMS‐Net: Deep unrolling for kernel least mean square algorithm

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This letter proposes a novel network framework based on the deep unrolling of kernel least mean square (KLMS‐Net). KLMS‐Net transforms the iterative process of KLMS into the forward propagation of deep neural networks, which learn the implicit feature mappings in a model‐driven manner, providing deep neural networks with explicit interpretability ...

Plane-Wave Ultrasound Beamforming Through Independent Component Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Beamforming in plane-wave imaging (PWI) is an essential step in creating images with optimal quality. Adaptive methods estimate the apodization weights from echo traces acquired by several transducer elements. Herein, we formulate plane-wave beamforming as a blind source separation problem.

Robust Adaptive Beamforming Based on Steering Vector Estimation via Semidefinite Programming Relaxation [PDF]

open access: yesA. Khabbazibasmenj, S.A. Vorobyov, and A. Hassanien, "Robust adaptive beamforming based on steering vector estimation with as little as possible prior information," IEEE Trans. Signal Processing, vol. 60, no. 6, pp. 2974-2987, June 2012, 2010
We develop a new approach to robust adaptive beamforming in the presence of signal steering vector errors. Since the signal steering vector is known imprecisely, its presumed (prior) value is used to find a more accurate estimate of the actual steering vector, which then is used for obtaining the optimal beamforming weight vector.

Adaptive beamforming method based on recursive maximum correntropy in impulsive noise with alpha-stable process [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
As a well-established adaptation criterion, the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) has been receiving increasing attention due to its robust against outliers. In this paper, a new complex recursive maximum correntropy (CRMC) algorithm without any priori information on the noise characteristics, is proposed under the MCC.
