Robust risk‐sensitive control

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2023
SummaryWe introduce arisk‐sensitivegeneralization of the mixed control problem for linear stochastic systems with additive noise. Two criteria ofexponential‐quadraticform are used to generalise the usual quadratic criteria. The solutions are found in a linear state‐feedback form for both the finite and the infinite horizon formulations in terms of ...

Digital Optimal Robust Control

Physical Review Letters, 2023
The lack of ability to determine and implement accurately quantum optimal control is a strong limitation to the development of quantum technologies. We propose a digital procedure based on a series of pulses where their amplitudes and (static) phases are designed from an optimal continuous-time protocol for given type and degree of robustness ...

Robust inventory control systems

Proceedings of the 2004 American Control Conference, 2004
Further developments of the inventory control strategy are studied in this brief. We use high gain (sliding mode) adaptive control to handle the system uncertainties caused by modeling errors and unmeasured disturbances. It is proven that this control law makes the uncertain system globally stable. The parameters of the resulting controller are easy to

High-Gain Robust Control

European Journal of Control, 1999
The main idea of the paper is to use some extra information about linear time-invariant SISO systems with uncertainty to design a robustly stable control system without gain adaptation. The line of reasoning is based on the high-gain controller theory under [see e.g. \textit{M. V. Meerov}, Avtom. Telemekh.

Robust Time-Delay Control

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1993
A method is presented to minimize residual vibration of structures or lightly damped servomechanisms. The method, referred to as the proportional plus multiple delay (PPMD) control, involves the use of multiple time delays in conjunction with a proportional part to cancel the dynamics of the system in a robust fashion.

Robust Load Frequency Control

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1989
Abstract It is highly desirable that any control system is not affected by modeling errors or parameter variations of a controlled object. This paper presents an application of a robust feedback control system to load frequency control of an interconnected power system. In the design of this control system, parameter variations in a controlled object

Robust CUSUM Control Charting

Quality Engineering, 2013
Cumulative sum (CUSUM) control charts are very effective in detecting special causes. In general, the underlying distribution is supposed to be normal. In designing a CUSUM chart, it is important to know how the chart will respond to disturbances of normality.

Robust adaptive LQ control schemes

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1989
Summary: The certainty equivalence principle is used to combine a robust adaptive law with a control structure derived from the linear quadratic (LQ) control problem. The resulting adaptive control scheme is applicable to minimum and nonminimum phase continuous-time plants and is robust with respect to unmodeled dynamics and bounded disturbances.

Robustness of optimally robust controllers

[1991 Proceedings] The Twenty-Third Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2002
The largest robust stability radius gamma (P/sub 0/) of a system P/sub 0/ is defined as the radius of the largest ball B/sub max/ in the gap metric centered at P/sub 0/ which can be stabilized by one single controller. Any controller which stabilizes B/sub max/ is called an optimally robust controller of P/sub 0/.
