Determining Parental Factors for Clinical Trial Attrition in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Despite high enrollment rates on Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocols, attrition after initial consent is challenging, introducing bias and prolonging trial completion. While adult oncology literature has identified predictors of withdrawal, little is known about caregiver decision‐making for child participation in ...

Secretory Phospholipase A2 in Patients With Sickle Cell Disease Hospitalized for Vaso‐Occlusive Pain Episodes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) is an inflammatory mediator linked to acute chest syndrome (ACS) in sickle cell disease (SCD), a serious complication that can develop during an acute vaso‐occlusive pain episode (VOE). Plasma sPLA2 levels have been proposed as a potential biomarker for predicting ACS onset.

Predication of A Mathematical Model for A Hardness in Steel-52100

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2014
This paper reports research in which an attempt was made to predict a mathematical model of hardness for steel-52100. The primary objective was to investigate the effect of heat treatment parameters on the hardness of steel-52100, where the value of ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Validity of quantifying sensation of fishing reel using transmission error instead of sensory human evaluation for face gear design

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2019
This paper discusses the determination of tooth-flank modification on a face gear system in order to improve the handle rotational sensation of a fishing spinning reel (hereafter, fishing reel sensation) and quantification of it.

Robust product design and pricing

open access: yesJournal of Economic Theory
We study design and pricing by a monopolist who has no information about the distribution of consumers’ tastes and maximizes her profit under the worst-case scenario. We show that her optimal strategy takes a simple form of dividing the taste space into a finite number of equal-length intervals and serving consumers on a randomly chosen interval.

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

The robustness of carbon fibre members bonded to aluminium connectors in aerial delivery systems

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2016
In this paper a framework for robust design solution of an adhesively bonded joint between a composite material and an aluminum connector is developed. To this end, an approach has been developed to automate the process of robust design by linking Ansys ...

Robust Design of Suspension System with Polynomial Chaos Expansion and Machine Learning

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2020
During the early development of a new vehicle project, the uncertainty of parameters should be taken into consideration because the design may be perturbed due to real components’ complexity and manufacturing tolerances. Thus, the numerical validation of
