On Multivariate Robust Stability

Summary: The notion of robust stability in the multidimensional setting is carefully investigated. In particular, the perturbation function is defined to measure the maximal stability region. Applications to robust stability tests of Kharitonov and Barmish types are obtained.

Robust stability of switched systems

This paper presents a linear programming-based method for finding Lyapunov functions of switched systems with polynomial vector fields and parametric uncertainties. We propose to utilize a certificate of positivity in the Bernstein basis to find a Lyapunov function.

Robust Stabilization of an Unmanned Motorcycle

Linearized equations of motion for a motorcycle with small roll angles are derived and used to design a robust cascade control scheme that stabilizes the motorcycle over a range of speeds. Stabilization is achieved by measuring the roll angle and its rate of change, and controlling the steering torque.
