ESTIMATING DEFORMATION MODULUS OF ROCK MASS FROM BIENIAWSKI'S ROCK MASS RATING (RMR)

open access: yesDoboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 2000

Estimation of the rock deformation modulus and RMR based on data mining techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this work Data Mining tools are used to develop new and innovative models for the estimation of the rock deformation modulus and the Rock Mass Rating (RMR). A database published by Chun et al. (2008) was used to develop these models. The parameters of

Bayesian prediction of TBM penetration rate in rock mass

open access: yesEngineering Geology, 2017
Abstract One of the essential tasks in the excavation of tunnels with TBM is the reliable estimation of its performance needed for the planning, cost control and other decision making on the feasibility of the tunneling project. The current study aims at predicting the rate of penetration (RoP) of TBM on the basis of the rock mass parameters ...

Demarcation of probable failure zones based on SMR and kinematic analysis

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk, 2019
Stability of the slopes along the rock cut on hilly roads are a major concern because slope failures lead to disruption of traffic and loss of property/life.

Effects of different empirical tunnel design approaches on rock mass behaviour during tunnel widening

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Empirical based approaches play an important role in tunnel excavation and support system design. These approaches are considered to be very effective in optimising the process of tunnel excavation and particularly tunnel widening.

Boreholes plans optimization methodology combining geostatistical simulation and simulated annealing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Nowadays, the prospection plans have the difficult task of ensuring a more complete and rich characterization of the rock mass for the purpose of optimizing costs and increasing safety in geotechnical projects. Currently, boreholes location and depth are
