Practical research of free standing rack (Development of seismic evaluation method)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
Under earthquake condition, the response of the free standing rack is nonlinear and involves complex combination of motion, such as sliding, rocking, twisting, and impacts between the fuel assemblies and the rack cells and between the pool floor and the ...

Experimental Study of the Seismic Performance of a Prefabricated Frame Rocking Wall Structure

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
This paper proposes a prefabricated frame rocking wall (PFRW) structure system in which beams, columns, and rocking walls are all prefabricated components.

Free Rocking of a Rigid Block on a Flexible Structure with Non-Smooth Contact Dynamics

open access: yesApplied Sciences
When structures are subjected to dynamic loading, such as that caused by an earthquake or working machinery, the rocking behavior of objects located on parts of the loaded structure plays an important role in addressing the protection and stability of ...

Comparative Assessment of Two Rocking Isolation Techniques for a Motorway Overpass Bridge

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2017
Rocking isolation of structures is evolving as an alternative design concept in earthquake engineering. The present paper investigates the seismic performance of an actual overpass bridge of the Attiki Odos motorway (Athens, Greece), employing two ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Hypothesis: The Vestibular and Cerebellar Basis of the Mal de Debarquement Syndrome

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2018
The Mal de Debarquement syndrome (MdDS) generally follows sea voyages, but it can occur after turbulent flights or spontaneously. The primary features are objective or perceived continuous rocking, swaying, and/or bobbing at 0.2 Hz after sea voyages or 0.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Closed-form overturning limit of rigid block under critical near-fault ground motions

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2016
A closed-form limit on the input level of the double impulse as a substitute of a near-fault ground motion is derived for the overturning of a rigid block.
