Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Ultra‐High‐Throughput Discovery of Multifunctional Polyphenolic Coatings on Droplet Microarrays
An ultra‐high‐throughput (UHT) combinatorial strategy enables the miniaturized synthesis and screening of ≈30 000 polyamine‐polyphenolic (PaPp) coatings using droplet microarrays (DMA). This approach reveals hundreds of previously unknown fluorescent, redox‐active, and antibacterial materials, including multifunctional, cell‐compatible surfaces ...

Understanding intracranial aneurysm sounds via high-fidelity fluid-structure-interaction modelling
Background Since the 1960s, the origins of intracranial aneurysm bruits and musical murmurs have been debated, with proposed mechanisms ranging from self-excitation (i.e., resonance) by stable pulsatile flow, to vibration caused by unstable (laminar ...

Optimum design of rocking wall coupled with building under stochastic seismic ground motion
Coupling with rocking walls is a possible approach to protect buildings against earthquakes. In fact, previous studies have demonstrated that such strategy can mitigate the seismic damage and can also prevent soft-story collapse mechanisms due to ...

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Development and testing of an alternative dissipative posttensioned rocking timber wall with boundary columns [PDF]
The unbonded posttensioned rocking and dissipative technology was first developed as the main outcome of the PREcast seismic structural systems (PRESSS) Program in the United States. After the first developments and significant refinement, the technology

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.
