Comparison of Stiffness Measurements of Wooden Rods Using Acoustic Guided Wave and Static Bending Test Techniques

open access: yesSensors
Traditionally, mechanical bending tests are used to measure the stiffness of lumber, which is generally represented by the static modulus of elasticity (MoE).

Effect of rod-radius variation on ultrafiltration in a solid-rod tubular-membrane

open access: yes, 2009
The permeat flux in a tubular-membrane can be improved by inserted concentrically with a solid-rod of linearly varied rod-radius and fixed rod volume. The performance in the device with rod-radius increased overcomes that with rod-radius decreased.

Rodne razlike u obrascima kohortnog fertiliteta u Srbiji: uloga obrazovnog gradijenta

open access: yesStanovništvo
Ovaj rad predstavlja prvi doprinos istraživanju rodnih razlika u obrascima kohortnog fertiliteta u Srbiji. Koristili smo posebno obrađene rezultate Popisa 2022. koji obuhvataju jednogodišnje kohorte žena rođenih 1940-1982.

Modelling Rod-like Flexible Biological Tissues for Medical Training

open access: yes, 2009
This paper outlines a framework for the modelling of slender rod-like biological tissue structures in both global and local scales. Volumetric discretization of a rod-like structure is expensive in computation and therefore is not ideal for applications

Insights into mitotic checkpoint by integrating CRISPR and RNAi

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology, 2019
Our recent study of the mitotic checkpoint protein BUB1 (budding uninhibited by benzimidazoles 1) revealed several apparent BUB1 knock-out cell lines expressing low levels of BUB1 protein sufficient to support spindle assembly checkpoint activity.

Enhanced Mutant Compensates for Defects in Rhodopsin Phosphorylation in the Presence of Endogenous Arrestin-1

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience, 2018
We determined the effects of different expression levels of arrestin-1-3A mutant with enhanced binding to light-activated rhodopsin that is independent of phosphorylation.

Internal Cooling of the Piston Rod in Non-Lubricated Piston Compressors

open access: yes, 2012
In non-lubricated piston compressors the wear of the piston rod packing rings is still a problem that needs to be considered. Due to the demands of high gas pressure and leak-tight sealing the frictional heat of the rings is causing high temperatures in ...
