Roll-to-Roll Functionalization of Polyolefin Separators for High-Performance Lithium-Ion Batteries

open access: yes, 2018
Modified polyolefin separators fabricated via a roll-to-roll system exhibit markedly improved compatibility with lithium ion battery electrolytes. Zwitterionic molecules containing a perfluorophenyl azide functional group were synthesized and covalently ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

THE METHOD OF TRANSHIPMENT OF GOODS BETWEEN SHIPS IN OPEN SEA (STS) [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2013
The transhipment method is using a cable trolley system. The two ships are moving on parallel way inthe same direction, between them is suspended carrying the trolley wire.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Quasi-Equilibrium Stress Zone with Residual Displacement Causing Permanent Slippage in Shrink-Fitted Sleeve Rolls

open access: yesMetals, 2018
Rolling back-up rolls require high fracture toughness, particularly in the shaft portion, and high-hardness in the sleeve portion. The rolls are classified into two types; one is an integrated type and the other is a shrink-fitted type consisting of a ...

Parameter Variation in Planetary Ball Milling of Titanium Aluminide Powder in XHV‐Adequate Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effects of milling parameters, including rotational speed, milling duration, and ball‐to‐powder ratio, on TiAl particle size and morphology in an XHV‐equivalent atmosphere. The creation of oxide‐free surfaces enhances the mechanical properties of green bodies.

Microstructure‐Controlled Crack Propagation and Fracture Resistance in MoSiBTiC Alloy Revealed by Multiscale Extended Finite Element Method Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...
