Effects of Wall‐to‐Floor Interactions on Seismic Response of Platform‐Type CLT Buildings
ABSTRACT Platform‐type cross‐laminated timber (CLT) buildings feature discontinuous wall segments supported by CLT floors. In practice, CLT floors are often treated as rigid diaphragm, yet the wall‐to‐floor interactions (WFIs) associated with flexibility of floors remain insufficiently investigated during seismic performance assessment.

The Impact of Uncertainty on Forecasting the US Economy
ABSTRACT This paper examines the predictive value of uncertainty measures for key macroeconomic indicators across multiple forecast horizons. We evaluate how different uncertainty proxies—economic policy uncertainty (EPU), VIX, geopolitical risk, and measures of macroeconomic and financial uncertainty—enhance forecast accuracy for industrial production,

Use of Tunnel Thrusters and Azimuthing Thrusters for Roll Damping of Ships [PDF]
This thesis presents a novel technique of active roll damping in marine vessels by the sole use of conventional thrusters. Many marine operations, such as crane operation and helicopter landings, should be carried out in small and steady roll motions ...

Bilge Keel Damping Component Prediction. Comparison of the Simple and Full Ikeda;s Method
This paper presents a comparison of the bilge keel component of roll damping, determined by the full Ikeda’s method and its simplified version. The material discusses both procedures for determining the value of the bilge keel component and the ...

Solid–liquid triboelectric nanogenerators are conceptualized as dynamic physicochemical encoders that encode intrinsic liquid properties into distinguishable triboelectric fingerprints. This review provides a unified framework for these platforms, covering sensing mechanisms in droplet impact, continuous flow, and immersion modes.

Abduction and Deduction in Dynamical Cognitive Science
Abstract This paper reviews the recent history of a subset of research in dynamical cognitive science, in particular that subset that allies itself with the sciences of complexity and casts cognitive systems as interaction dominant, noncomputational, and nonmodular. I look at this history in the light of C.S.
