Analysis of the Roll Decay Motion for a Patrol Boat by URANS Simulations
Volume 5: Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology; CFD and VIV, 2009The simulations of the flow around a vessel of the Italian Navy in free roll decay have been carried out by the numerical solution of the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The focus is on the analysis of the roll motion coefficients (damping and period of oscillations) at different Froude and Reynolds numbers.

Roll Damping Decay of a FPSO With Bilge Keel
Volume 7: CFD and VIV, 2013The roll damping decay is investigated for a Floating Production Storage and Offloanding (FPSO). For this purpose, a roll decay test of FPSO is simulated by means of the numerical solution of the incompressible two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations.

Martensite decay during rolling contact fatigue in ball bearings
Metallurgical Transactions A, 1976During rolling contact fatigue of ball bearings structural changes may occur below the raceway, in the region of maximum shear stress. A great number of 6309 type bearings were tested at two stress levels for varying numbers of revolutions, and the resulting structural changes in the inner rings were studied by optical and electron microscopy.

An Exponential Decay Model for Decaying of Contact Patch Friction Steering Moment with Rolling Speed
Tire Science And TechnologyABSTRACT Steering torque is a very important quantity for the driver's response. In fact, it gives the driver an idea of the road adherence condition during driving. Several models have been developed to simulate shear forces at the contact patch; most of them are based on semi-empirical tire models that account for slip and slip angles.
