A study on residual stresses in rolling
International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 1997Determination of residual stresses in rolled material is important for the design of product and process. Different approaches for determining them and difficulties associated with the methods are discussed. A simplified approach to find the longitudinal residual stress (stress in the direction of rolling) is proposed.

Journal of Thermal Stresses, 2014This study examined a critical idling time for the roll to attain a target temperature prior to rolling the next strip in the hot strip rolling process. Residual Stresses Induced by Cross-Rolling
Materials Science Forum, 2006Deformation by rolling induces in general a strong crystallographic texture, hence an important material anisotropy. This is a reason why the cross-rolling is sometimes applied in order to symmetrize the crystallographic texture. Such an operation modifies also residual stresses.
