Analysis of Roll Pass Wear in the Railway Rail Rolling Process. [PDF]
The rolling process is one of the most efficient methods for manufacturing long products with both regular and more complex cross-sectional shapes, the latter requiring the development of geometrically complex roll passes. Railway rails are one such product, manufactured at ArcelorMittal Poland S.A., Huta Królewska plant.

Investigation of the wear of rolls in asymmetric rolling
In the present work, both symmetric and asymmetric rolling processes were investigated by means of numerical approaches. From the algorithm presented, the values of rolling pressure and sliding velocity in the roll gap were determined. These variables allow the estimation of tribological parameters of a given material.
