Wear During Lubricated Rolling Contact

A S L E Transactions, 1981
A series of experiments describing the wear of steel rollers during lubricated pure rolling contact are presented. A four-roller machine is used for the experiment; the velocity difference between the mating rollers is maintained equal to zero, while the surface roughness and oil film thickness are varied.

Character of blooming mill roll wear

Metallurgist, 1979
Roll consumption is a substantial fraction of the cost of rolled products. Nonetheless, to date insufficient attention has been given to studying ways of reducing roll consumption and mechanisms of roll wear. In primary mills Nos. i and 2 of the Krivorozhstal' plant investigators studied the magnitude and character of pass wear on the rolls of the 1250

4—Wear of rolling bearings

Tribology, 1969
The causes of wear in rolling bearings are discussed and steps are given to help a designer reduce wear to a minimum. Attention is given to working conditions and the correct selection of bearing type and size with reference to International Standards Organization recommendations. Guides are given for relubrication intervals and oil selection. Mounting

The Wear of Crushers and Diamond Roll Formers

1977
Measurements are taken of the amount of wear which occurs on crush rollers of different materials. Possible causes of this wear are discussed. Suggestions are made for the shape of crush rollers which are likely to be susceptible to this selective wear.
