Roller coaster–induced barotrauma

The Laryngoscope, 2010
AbstractWe present the case of a 24‐year‐old male who presented to the otolaryngology clinic for otalgia and aural fullness after riding a roller coaster. We present his clinical course and outcome and briefly discuss the mechanism of injury and otologic barotrauma.

Roller skating injuries

Annals of Emergency Medicine, 1980
An increasing number of patients who have sustained injuries while roller skating are being seen in emergency departments; more can be expected. One hundred consecutive charts of patients who presented to the emergency department after roller skating accidents were reviewed. Sixty-five percent of patients had sustained a fracture or dislocation.

PRESSING ROLLER WITH A ROLLER SLEEVE

2004
A pressing roller comprises a roller sleeve (1), mounted such as to rotate on a stationary support (2), fixed to support discs (4) and which may be displaced in the axial direction on the support (2). The roller sleeve (1) is placed under tension by means of a tensioning device (11,12), which engages with the support discs (4).

ROLLER BOARD TRACTION

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1959
Traction of one form or another has been a popular treatment for low back and sciatic pain for the past two decades, and it was mentioned by Dickson 1 in 1936. Many have applied traction to one or both lower extremities by adhesive tape or mole skin, either directly on the skin or acting through sponge rubber, a stockinette, or a carefully fitted boot.

Magnetic bearing conveyor roller : Clean room roller

2019
This project is covering the development of a magnetically suspended belt conveyor system that would be able to operate in high-end cleanroom environments. The design would have sets of rollers held in place by permanent magnets so that it would levitate in mid-air. Thus, eliminating friction produced from conventional roller designs.

Roller Skewing Behavior in Roller Bearings

Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1982
Measurements of roller skewing of a 1.15 length to diameter ratio roller in 118 mm bore roller bearings of 0.18 and 0.21 mm (0.0073 and 0.0083 in.) clearance operating with a 4450 N (1000 lb) radial load at shaft speeds of 4000, 8000, and 12,000 rpm with outer race misalignment of 0, 0.5, and −0.5 deg are reported.

MODERNIZATION OF CUSHIONING DEVICES OF ROLLERS ROLLERS

Mechanics of Roller Instability in Roller Bearings.

1978
Abstract : An analytical formulation for the roller motion in a cylindrical roller bearing is presented in terms of the classical differential equations of motion. Roller-race interaction is analyzed in detail and the resulting force and moment vectors are determined.
