Transient Simulation Analysis of Needle Roller Bearing in Oil Jet Lubrication and Planetary Gearbox Lubrication Conditions Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics

open access: yesLubricants
The transient lubrication conditions of rolling bearings are different in gearboxes and bearing testers. It has been observed that samples of qualified rolling bearings tested in rolling bearing testers often fail and do not meet lifespan requirements ...

Studies on the Influence of Residual Stresses on the Fatigue Life of Rolling Bearings in Dependence on the Production Processes

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
The production process significantly influences the surface properties of rolling element bearings raceways. Deep rolling can induce a depth dependent residual stress state.

Semiconducting Polymers Post‐Functionalized With Ureido‐Pyrimidinone for Robust Stretchable Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The design of intrinsically robust stretchable semiconducting polymers was achieved through OTBS‐mediated post‐functionalization of PDPP2T side chains with UPy units, generating dual hydrogen‐bonding motifs comprising weaker urethane linkages and strong quadruple UPy interactions along the long alkyl side chain, which is crucial for achieving desirable

Fault Diagnosis of Rolling Bearing Based on a Novel Adaptive High-Order Local Projection Denoising Method

open access: yesComplexity, 2018
Rolling bearings are vital components in rotary machinery, and their operating condition affects the entire mechanical systems. As one of the most important denoising methods for nonlinear systems, local projection (LP) denoising method can be used to ...

Design and Characterization of a Two‐Dimensional Soft Array Based on Cooperative Dielectric Elastomer Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully polymeric two‐dimensional array of Dielectric Elastomers enables self‐sensing, cooperative actuation, and large‐stroke operation in a DE‐based autonomous conveyor. Based only on voltage and current measurements at actuator level, the system detects the presence of a ball and subsequently drives it toward a target position.

Roll‐to‐Roll Processable EC/TC Hybrid Smart Windows Driven by a Bidirectional Dual‐Chromic Polymer Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable EC/TC hybrid smart window using a DCPE that enables tunable solar modulation (ΔTsol:15–43%), fast electrochromic switching (<90 s), and strong thermal blocking (10–14°C reduction). HPMC improves thermal stability, while an optimized ISL enhances EC performance.

The fault detection and severity diagnosis of rolling element bearings using modulation signal bispectrum [PDF]

open access: yes
The rolling element bearing is a key part in many mechanical equipment. The accurate and timely diagnosis of its faults is critcal for predictive maintenance. Vibration signals from a defective bearing with a localized fault contain a series of impulsive

Fault Diagnosis for Rolling Bearings Using Optimized Variational Mode Decomposition and Resonance Demodulation

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
It is difficult to extract the fault signal features of locomotive rolling bearings and the accuracy of fault diagnosis is low. In this paper, a novel fault diagnosis method based on the optimized variational mode decomposition (VMD) and resonance ...

Bone‐Inspired Recyclable Composites for Damage‐Tolerant Circular Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bone‐inspired architected composites are developed by combining osteon‐like reinforcements with a recyclable Elium thermoplastic matrix. The hierarchical architecture redirects cracks and promotes energy dissipation, while enabling recovery of intact, aligned, load‐bearing reinforcement units that retain their original stiffness, revealing a route ...

Research on the Remaining Life Prediction Method of Rolling Bearings Based on Optimized TPA-LSTM

open access: yesMachines
The whole life cycle degradation data set of rolling bearings has the characteristics of large capacity, diversity, and non-stationarity. As a powerful tool for processing such time series data in deep learning algorithms, LSTM is prone to the loss of ...
