DEM investigation on characteristics of rolling resistance for modelling particle shape

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
To examine the capability of rolling resistance to model the effects of particle shape, two sets of samples, composed of binary clumped particles and circular particles with rolling resistance, are tested in DEM simulation.

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.

Testing the assumption of linear dependence between the rolling friction torque and normal force

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Rolling friction is present in all nonconforming bodies in contact. A permanent topic is the characterization of the moment of rolling friction. A number of authors accept the hypothesis of linear dependency between the rolling torque and the normal ...

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Study of the coefficient of friction and forward slip in cold rolling of stainless steel AISI 430 in Sendzimir mills

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
For most AISI 430 stainless steel applications, aesthetic appeal is mandatory. To avoid the generation of scratches on the strip surface during cold rolling on a Sendzimir mill, forward and backward slip are required to synchronize the speed of the ...
