Visible Light Communication Using Receivers of Camera Image Sensor and Solar Cell
We propose an electronic label and sensor system using visible light communication (VLC). The downlink signal is transmitted by a white-light light-emitting diode (LED) lamp that can provide lighting, VLC, and energy harvesting for mobile devices.

Upgrade of the ALICE Inner Tracking System
During the Long Shutdown 2 of the LHC in 2018/2019, the ALICE experiment plans the installation of a novel Inner Tracking System. It will replace the current six layer detector system with a seven layer detector using Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors. The

Empirical modelling of rolling shutter effect [PDF]
We propose and evaluate a novel methodology to identify the rolling shutter parameters of a real camera. We also present a model for the geometric distortion introduced when a moving camera with a rolling shutter views a scene. Unlike previous work this model allows for arbitrary camera motion, including accelerations, is exact rather than a ...

ABSTRACT Existing research examines the relationship between personal life shocks and financial well‐being primarily through the lens of objective markers of the individual's financial situation (e.g., liquidity). Little attention has been paid to the relative roles of these objective markers and more intuitive or affect‐based factors in how an ...

A Thorough Investigation Into the ENF Reconstruction in Videos Exposed by Rolling Shutter
In electric network frequency (ENF)-based video forensics, the analysis of videos captured by rolling shutter systems, where each row of a frame is exposed at different time instances, is critical. To gain the advantage of increased sampling frequency in

In Vivo Cytoskeletal AMPA Receptor Transport Imaging in C. elegans
ABSTRACT Long‐distance intracellular transport of ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluRs) is essential for proper excitatory synaptic function underlying learning and memory. Many neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative conditions have abnormal iGluR transport and trafficking, leading to an intense interest in the mechanisms and factors regulating these

We consider the relativistic deformation of quantum waves and mechanical bodies carrying intrinsic angular momentum (AM). When observed in a moving reference frame, the centroid of the object undergoes an AM-dependent transverse shift.

The impact of forced closure on proppant distribution of hydraulic fracturing in shale formations
Research findings demonstrate that implementing forced closure within shale formations can remarkably mitigate proppant settlement, concurrently increasing the effective propped surface area from 29.74% to 38.68%. Abstract Forced closure is widely used in conventional oil and gas reservoirs to promote uniform proppant placement.

Deep network for rolling shutter rectification
CMOS sensors employ row-wise acquisition mechanism while imaging a scene, which can result in undesired motion artifacts known as rolling shutter (RS) distortions in the captured image. Existing single image RS rectification methods attempt to account for these distortions by either using algorithms tailored for specific class of scenes which warrants ...
