ABSTRACT Attainment‐focused policy often reduces literacy to measurable outcomes, overlooking the communicative, embodied and relational practices through which meaning is made. This paper examines how drama pedagogy can expand literacy as a collective practice that supports wellbeing, belonging and democratic participation.
