Efficient Direct Recycling of Spent Batteries: Integrated Lithiation and Delamination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated process for the delamination and relithiation of spent cathodes, LixNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 and LixFePO4, under open‐air conditions is proposed. The transition‐metal (Ni) oxidation state in the cathode is reduced by the oxidation of diethylene glycol, facilitating relithiation. Glycol aldehyde formation induces 100% electrode delamination.

Reading and Annotating Galen between 1515–1531: on some Latin Galen Editions in the Library of the Carmelites in Cracow

open access: yesStudia Ceranea, 2019
Copies of early-printed books have been of interest to to-day’s collectors and researchers not only for their material aspects (names of publishers and places of printing, fonts and composition, number of known copies etc.), but also because they bear ...

CHCHD10 Mitigates Alzheimer's Disease‐Related Phenotypes in Association With Epigenetic Remodeling in Directly Reprogrammed Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CHCHD10 loss in Alzheimer's disease is associated with mitochondrial dysfunction, epigenomic disruption, and tau pathology. Restoration of CHCHD10 shifts DNA methylation toward a non‐disease state and reduces tau and amyloid pathology, with KATNAL2 acting as a downstream effector.

Bipolar Palladium Membrane Enabling Crossover‐Free Selective Proton Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a crossover‐free bipolar palladium membrane that transports protons selectively via reversible Pd/PdHx absorption–desorption and lattice hydrogen diffusion, overcoming the conductivity–selectivity trade‐off of polymer membranes. It enables water‐fed Li‐mediated ammonia synthesis, achieving 51% Faradaic efficiency and stable 12 h ...

The life of a loanword: A case study of le coming out in the French magazine Têtu (1995–2015)

open access: yesAmpersand, 2019
In this paper we investigate the sociocultural dimensions of lexical borrowing by focusing on the diachronic use of a socially charged English loanword—le coming out—in Têtu, a popular gay lifestyle magazine that was published in French from 1995 to 2015.

Wearable Electro‐Thermal Haptic Stimulator Driven by a Self‐Powered Tactile Sensor for Realistic Stimulus Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a stimulus‐replicating system combining a tactile sensor with a wearable Peltier thermotactile module and concentric electrotactile electrode. Signals encoding pressure and temperature drive the stimulators to reproduce mechano‐thermal cues on the skin. AlN/PDMS encapsulation and SA/LA PSA ensure mechanical compliance and thermal efficiency.

From Devices to Systems: Integration Strategies for Micro‐Supercapacitors in Microsystems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micro‐supercapacitors are evolving from device‐level energy storage toward system‐level functional units in integrated microsystems. This Review presents a system‐oriented design framework in which integration serves as the key link between application requirements, system constraints, device architectures, and material selection. Monolithic and hybrid

Flexoelectric Suppression of Interfacial Carrier Loss in BaTiO3 Thin‐Film Bulk Photovoltaic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In single‐crystalline BaTiO3 thin films, flexoelectric strain gradients strongly enhance photocurrent by suppressing interfacial carrier loss. Loading experiments reveal a ∼35‐fold photocurrent increase with applied force. Self‐consistent electrostatic modeling shows that strain gradients reshape the interfacial potential landscape, strengthen local ...
