Physicochemical investigation of shrimp fossils from the Romualdo and Ipubi formations (Araripe Basin) [PDF]
The Ipubi and Romualdo Formations are Cretaceous units of the Araripe Basin (Santana Group). The first and most ancient was deposited in a lake environment, and some fossils were preserved in shales deposited under blackish conditions.

New marine data and age accuracy of the Romualdo Formation, Araripe Basin, Brazil. [PDF]
AbstractA combined biostratigraphic and palaeoecological study of foraminifera, ostracodes and microfacies was carried out on the Aptian in the Sítio Sobradinho section of the Araripe Basin, northeast Brazil. The analysed section represents a deepening-upward sequence with mid-ramp shoal and outer ramp to basin facies associations on a mixed ...

New brachyuran crabs from the Aptian–Albian Romualdo Formation, Santana Group of Brazil: Evidence for a Tethyan connection to the Araripe Basin [PDF]
Despite the exceptional palaeontological richness of the renowned Santana Group from the Early Cretaceous Araripe Basin of Brazil, only one specimen of true crabs (Brachyura) has been discovered to date.

The first theropod dinosaur (Coelurosauria, Theropoda) from the base of the Romualdo Formation (Albian), Araripe Basin, Northeast Brazil. [PDF]
AbstractThe Romualdo Formation (Araripe Basin) is worldwide known for the large number of well-preserved fossils but the dinosaur record is rather scarce. Here we describe a new coelurosaur, which is the first tetrapod recovered from the basal layers of this stratigraphic unit that consist of dark shales. Aratasaurus museunacionali gen. et sp. nov.

The phylum Mollusca includes one of the most beautiful examples of colour patterns in present-day shells. However, they are rare in the fossil record because they demand excellent fossilization. In Brazil, colour patterns in fossil mollusk shells are recorded in gastropods Natica aff.

Correlations in weighted networks [PDF]
We develop a statistical theory to characterize correlations in weighted networks. We define the appropriate metrics quantifying correlations and show that strictly uncorrelated weighted networks do not exist due to the presence of structural constraints.
