Mechanisms of Roadway Instability and Coupled Control Technology for Working Face Passing Through Fault Zones

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study mainly explores the instability characteristics of roadways near faults in the working face. Taking the 51104 transportation roadway of the 51104 working face in Shengxin Coal Mine as the main research object, through theoretical analysis, borehole inspection, numerical simulation and on‐site mine pressure observation, the instability ...

Research on Roof Cutting and Pressure Relief Technology of Deep Hole Pre-cracking Blasting

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy
The dynamic pressure gob-side entry is affected by the whole mining process of the working face, and the cause of the large deformation is the additional stress generated during the rotary sinking process of the key block. Therefore, in order to alleviate the deformation of surrounding rock of roadway along goaf.

Analysis of the effect of cutting depth under thick immediate roof on gob-side entry retaining stability

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua
The stability of gob-side entry retaining with roof cutting and pressure relief is primarily influenced by roof cutting parameters. However, determining appropriate cutting parameters for gob-side entry under the effect of a thick immediate roof is ...

Research on Crack Propagation and Stress Propagation in Coal‐Rock Combinations Under Different In Situ Stresses Subjected to Blasting Loads

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A stress wave propagation model for coal‐rock combinations under in situ stress was established. Taking a coal mine in Huainan, China as the engineering background, isotropic and anisotropic numerical models were constructed. Field engineering practices were carried out to verify the reliability of the conclusions.

Study on the overburden failure law in thin coal seam mining without coal pillars under complex geological conditions

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation
To improve the recovery rate of thin coal seams under complex geological conditions and to investigate overburden failure and migration during pillarless mining, a study was conducted at a fully mechanized coal mining face in the Yuwang Coal Mine.

Determination of the Pressure-Relief Environment of Roadways Beneath the Goaf and Surrounding Rock Control for Gob-Side Entry Retaining by Roof Cutting

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In view of the complex stress environment of the underlying roadway and the difficulty in ensuring the stability of entry retaining under the combined action of the goaf and the residual coal pillar, this paper takes the auxiliary intake roadway of the ...

Optimization of Blasting‑Induced Roof Cutting Parameters in Key Stratum and Its Application in Gob‑Side Entry Retention Technology

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study addresses hard roof coal seam conditions by optimizing key stratum blasting‐cutting parameters through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and field tests. It proposes calculation methods for blast hole spacing and delay timing based on stress wave theory, controlling roadway deformation within 35 mm, thereby enhancing resource ...

Numerical Simulation Study on Optimization of Horizontal Sublevel Top‐Coal Caving Mining Technique for Steeply Inclined Extra‐Thick Coal Seam

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
As the sublevel height increases, the top‐coal recovery amount gradually increases, but both the top‐coal recovery rate and the thickened top‐coal recovery rate show a downward trend, and the decline in the top‐coal recovery rate is gradually increasing. The comparison indicates that the optimal sublevel height is 20 m.

Damage Characteristics and Stress Distribution Law of Overburden Rock in Multiple Mining of Close Coal Seams

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study on close coal seams shows that multi‐seam mining increases the height of the fractured zone from approximately 26 m (single upper‐seam mining) to about 49 m. When the lower seam is mined after the extraction of the upper seam, the heights of both the caved zone and the fractured zone increase by approximately two times.
