Wafer‐Scale Integration of α‐quartz Thin Films toward Super High Frequency Piezoelectric bioNEMS for Chikungunya Virus Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Epitaxial piezoelectric α‐quartz/Si BioNEMS sensors, made using soft chemistry, effectively detect the Chikungunya virus. They have a mass sensitivity of 205 pg Hz−1 in liquid and can detect the virus at a limit of 9 ng mL−1. This development enables high‐frequency mass devices for point‐of‐care testing in healthcare and other electronic applications ...

Low-frequency sound source localization as a function of closed acoustic spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Further development of an emerging generalized theory of low-frequency sound localization in closed listening spaces is presented that aims to resolve the ambiguities inherent in previous research.

Engineering Highly Cellularized Living Materials via Mechanical Agitation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanical agitation strategy is developed to engineer highly cellularized living materials, achieving cell densities of up to 1 billion cells per milliliter. By precisely tuning properties such as stiffness and toughness in blood clots, the approach is validated in both in vitro and in vivo studies.

Room acoustics modelling in the time-domain with the nodal discontinuous Galerkin method.

open access: yesJournal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2019
To solve the linear acoustic equations for room acoustic purposes, the performance of the time-domain nodal discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method is evaluated.

TLR Agonist Nano Immune Therapy Clears Peritoneal and Systemic Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
Intraperitoneal administration of immunogenic Toll‐like receptor agonist‐modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles leads to rapid internalization by ascites myeloid cells with trafficking to fat‐associated lymphoid clusters. Activation of myeloid cells counters suppressive immune mechanisms associated with peritoneal metastasis, leading to regional and ...

Virtual Acoustics at the Service of Music Performance and Recording

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2013
Virtual or active acoustics refers to the generation of a simulated room response by means of elec- troacoustics and digital signal processing. An artificial room response may include sound reflections and reverberation as well as other acoustic ...

Acoustical measurements in rooms with variable acoustics. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1991
A dedicated, computer-based system was developed to perform a complete set of acoustical measurements of recent interest in full-sized rooms and in scale models of rooms. The measurements included reverberation time, early reverberation time, loudness, early-to-late temporal energy ratios, lateral energy fractions, interaural cross correlation, and ...

Passive volumetric time domain simulation for room acoustics applications.

open access: yesJournal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2019
A major design consideration for volumetric wave-based time-domain room acoustics simulation methods, such as finite difference time domain (FDTD) methods, must be sufficiently general, or robust, to handle irregular room geometries and frequency ...
