Possibilities of Inner Ear Barrier Models for Otologic Drug Development

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
This review examines innovative organ chip models that reconstruct critical inner ear barriers, addressing a fundamental challenge in otologic drug development: the limited understanding of pharmaceutical behavior across these complex barriers. By replicating these barriers, the advanced models offer promising alternatives to traditional testing ...

Shaping ability of three heat-treated NiTi systems in Vertucci’s type III root canals of mandibular incisors: An ex vivo study

open access: yesSaudi Dental Journal
Introduction: The anatomical configuration classified as Vertucci’s type III is described as the second most prevalent in mandibular incisors. Methods: Thirty-six Vertucci’s type III mandibular incisors were evaluated by micro-computed tomography (micro ...

LRRC8A Regulates Outer Hair Cell Volume and Electromotility and is Required for Hearing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies LRRC8A‐dependent volume‐regulated anion channels (VRACs) as essential for cochlear outer hair cells' electromotility and auditory signal amplification. LRRC8A deficiency disrupts cell volume control, impairs auditory sensitivity, and causes deafness, while targeted LRRC8A re‐expression restores auditory function.

Differential Scanning Calorimetric (DSC) Study of New and Sterilized Nickel-Titanium Rotary Endodontic Instruments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction: Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) files have become popular in endodontic procedures compared to traditional stainless steel hand files owing to their increased flexibility which is especially advantageous in curved canals. Due to the associated costs,

ProTaper files in root canal preparation: Case report

open access: yesStomatoloski glasnik Srbije, 2005
The aim of this paper was to, on the basis of everyday clinical practice, show and analyse, the crown-down technique of root canal preparation with nickel-titanium rotary instruments. After the diagnosis of irreversible pulp disease on the second lower right molar, endodontic treatment was carried out.

UCP2 Upregulates ACSL3 to Enhance Lipid Droplet Release from Acinar Cells and Modulates the Sirt1/Smad3 Pathway to Promote Macrophage‐to‐Myofibroblast Transition in Chronic Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings suggest that UCP2 promotes LD formation and release in acinar cells by upregulating ACSL3 expression. This alteration in the local lipid metabolic environment indirectly drives the MMT process. Additionally, UCP2 may regulate the acetylation of Smad3 through Sirt1, enhancing its nuclear activity and activating the TGF‐β/ Smad3 signaling ...
