LacusPyr, a Catalogue of Lakes and Ponds of the Pyrenees

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 4, October 2026.
The LacusPyr dataset provides a comprehensive, georeferenced inventory of Pyrenean lakes and ponds, integrating key geomorphological attributes that underpin limnological processes. By enabling analyses across spatial, elevation, and watershed scales, this dataset supports research on mountain lake functioning, regional metacommunities, climate ...

Endoscopic Transnasal Apicoectomy for Odontogenic Maxillary Sinusitis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, Volume 136, Issue 10, Page 4178-4182, October 2026.
Endoscopic transnasal apicoectomy (ETA) is a novel multidisciplinary technique that combines endoscopic sinus surgery with apicoectomy via a transnasal approach. ETA enables direct access to periapical lesions while preserving the causative tooth. Our initial experience suggests that this minimally invasive approach is safe, feasible, and effective for

Adaptation Potential of Local Water Management Practices to Glacier Loss

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Climate change disproportionately affects mountain river basins, driving cryospheric changes and altering their hydrology. This has detrimental impacts on water resources, accentuating the need for robust adaptation strategies. Traditional engineering approaches can provide buffering capacity but are associated with high costs and limited ...

Improving Micro– and Macro–Algae Speciation Mapping for Management: A Field‐Validated Sentinel‐2 and Sentinel‐3 Intercomparison in the Indian River Lagoon

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 10, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract In recent years, the health of the Indian River Lagoon (IRL) on Florida's east coast has fluctuated due to recurring harmful algal blooms (HABs). These events typically involve cyanobacteria, dinoflagellates, or A. lagunensis (brown tide) causing water‐quality degradation and seagrass decline.

Long‐Term Clinical and Radiographic Outcomes of Large Periapical Lesions Managed by Non‐Surgical and Surgical Endodontic Treatment: A Case Series [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT The management of large periapical lesions is challenging, as lesion size alone does not predict treatment outcome or mandate surgery. This case series presents three large periapical lesions with 4‐ to 12‐year follow‐up, illustrating different therapeutic pathways.

Postcranial anatomy of the Miocene hippopotamoids of Toros‐Menalla, Chad

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 249, Issue 4, Page 924-949, October 2026.
We establish a framework for the identification of postcranial remains in hippopotamoids by describing and comparing for the first time two late Miocene hippopotamoids from Toros‐Menalla, Chad (Hexaprotodon garyam, an early hippopotamid, and Libycosaurus bahri, the last African anthracothere) with the common hippopotamus.
