The apical root canal shape according to the root canal system of premolars with single root

open access: yesThe Journal of The Korean Dental Association, 2017
Materials and methods: Sixty extracted premolars were assigned to three groups according to the root canal system (Weine's classification; type I, II and III) of 20 teeth each using radiographic examination. The root tip was cut horizontally 1 mm from the anatomical apex and the apical cross-section was visualized using microscope at x50 magnification ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Liver organoids: modelling complexity in homeostasis and disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Studying liver in vitro has been challenging because simple 2D cell cultures fail to capture liver's cellular and architectural complexity. To bridge this gap, scientists increasingly use organoids, 3D liver models which better mimic liver composition and function. This review examines recent advances in liver organoid complexity and realism, discusses

Effectiveness of EDTA as the irrigation solution to remove smear layer in root canal

open access: yesPadjadjaran Journal of Dentistry, 2009
One of the objectives of successful endodontic treatment is the hermetic obturation of the root canal system. To achieve this, the root canal filling must seal the canal space both apically and coronally to prevent the ingress of microorganisms or tissue

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Micro-CT investigation of different types of rotary root canal enlargement methods

open access: yes, 2021
Biomechanical preparation of root canal is one of the main endodontic therapy steps. More recently, micro-CT has been proposed to compare the canal anatomy during preparation to give clinicians an impartial evaluation of many rotary systems in the market.

C-shaped single canaled mandibular second molar: A rare case report

open access: yesSRM Journal of Research in Dental Sciences, 2017
This case report presents a rare root canal system in a mandibular second molar tooth, a single root with a single canal. C-shaped canals with varying configuration are commonly observed in single-rooted mandibular second molars.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Comparative analysis of root canal irrigation in endodontic treatment of apical periodontitis in patients with root canal systems contaminated with Candida albicans

open access: yesЭндодонтия Today, 2023
Apical periodontitis is an inflammatory process of the connective tissue complex forming the periodontal ligament (periodontum), localized around the apex of the tooth, caused by microbial invasion, located in the bacterial biofilm of the root canal ...
