Root coverage procedures improve patient aesthetics. A systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis.

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, 2016
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to perform a systematic review (SR) of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to explore if periodontal plastic surgery procedures for the treatment of single and multiple gingival recessions (Rec) may improve aesthetics

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Vestibular incisional subperiosteal tunnel access versus coronally advanced flap with connective tissue graft for root coverage of Miller’s class I and II gingival recession: A randomized clinical trial

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Periodontology & Implant Dentistry, 2019
Background This study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of vestibular incisional subperiosteal tunnel access (VISTA) with subepithelial connective tissue graft versus a coronally advanced flap (CAF) with subepithelial connective tissue graft for the

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

Beyond digital twins: the role of foundation models in enhancing the interpretability of multiomics modalities in precision medicine

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review highlights how foundation models enhance predictive healthcare by integrating advanced digital twin modeling with multiomics and biomedical data. This approach supports disease management, risk assessment, and personalized medicine, with the goal of optimizing health outcomes through adaptive, interpretable digital simulations, accessible ...

Influence of tooth location on coronally advanced flap procedures for root coverage.

open access: yesThe Journal of Periodontology, 2018
BACKGROUND The efficacy of Coronally Advance Flap (CAF) has been extensively evaluated and several parameters influencing the results, such as interproximal attachment loss, recession defect size, papilla dimension, flap thickness, have also been ...

Gut alterations in a chronic kidney disease rat model with diet‐induced vascular calcification

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients often suffer from intestinal and/or mineral and bone disorders. Using a rat model, we showed that uremic vascular calcification is associated with gut barrier alterations (decreased gut mucus production and Nlrp6 gene expression, increased gut inflammation), and plasma retention of gut‐origin uremic toxins (indoxyl

Linguistically informed and corpus informed morphological analysis of Arabic

open access: yes, 2009
Standard English PoS-taggers generally involve tag-assignment (via dictionary-lookup etc) followed by tag-disambiguation (via a context model, e.g. PoS-ngrams or Brill transformations). We want to PoS-tag our Arabic Corpus, but evaluation of existing PoS-
