Regional convergence across European Union [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyzes the per-capita incomes convergence process across 140 NUTS2 European regions during the period 1980-1999. Two methods of analysis have been used.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Limiting Distribution of the Score Statistic under Moderate Deviation from a Unit Root in MA(1) [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper derives the asymptotic distribution of Tanaka's score statistic under moderate deviation from a unit root in a moving average model of order one or MA(1).

Charge Distribution in Soft Chiral Pion Bremsstrahlung

open access: yes, 1996
Bremsstrahlung of soft chiral pions in high-energy processes is considered. The distribution over number of neutral and charged pions is shown to obey the inverse square root law.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Soil Nitrogen Distribution Affects Nitrogen Utilization and Yield of Drip-Irrigated Rice

open access: yesAgronomy
The cultivation of drip-irrigated rice has resulted in lower yields. However, the decrease in rice yield under drip irrigation and its relationship with the existing water and N regime have not been fully explained.

The value distribution of incomplete Gauss sums

open access: yes, 2012
It is well known that the classical Gauss sum, normalized by the square-root number of terms, takes only finitely many values. If one restricts the range of summation to a subinterval, a much richer structure emerges.

Distribution of Lateral Root Primordia in Root Tips of Musa [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Botany, 1999
The distribution of lateral root primordia in the root tips of four Musa landraces (Grande Naine, Pisang Berlin, Ngok Egome and Yangambi Km5) grown in the field has been investigated to evaluate the range of genetic variation of lateral root initiation.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
