Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

A Comprehensive Approach to Assessing Yield Map Quality in Smart Agriculture: Void Detection and Spatial Error Mapping

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Smart agriculture relies on accurate yield maps as a crucial tool for decision-making. Many yield maps, however, suffer from spatial errors that can compromise the quality of their data, while several approaches have been proposed to address some of ...

Comparison of BPA and LMA Methods for Takagi - Sugeno Type MIMO Neuro-Fuzzy Network to Forecast Electrical Load TIME Series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper describes an accelerated Backpropagation algorithm (BPA) that can be used to train the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) type multi-input multi-output (MIMO) neuro-fuzzy network efficiently. Also other method such as accelerated Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm

Continuous record Laplace-based inference about the break date in structural change models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Building upon the continuous record asymptotic framework recently introduced by Casini and Perron (2018a) for inference in structural change models, we propose a Laplace-based (Quasi-Bayes) procedure for the construction of the estimate and confidence ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Hybrid deep learning CNN-LSTM model for forecasting direct normal irradiance: a study on solar potential in Ghardaia, Algeria

open access: yesScientific Reports
This paper provides an in-depth analysis and performance evaluation of four Solar Radiance (SR) prediction models. The prediction is ensured for a period ranging from a few hours to several days of the year.

Fundamental limits of quantum-secure covert optical sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a square root law for active sensing of phase $\theta$ of a single pixel using optical probes that pass through a single-mode lossy thermal-noise bosonic channel.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
