A seakeeping analysis method for an air-lifted vessel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A seakeeping analysis in the frequency domain is presented to predict the motion response of an airlifted vessel (ALV) in waves. The ALV is supported by pressurised air in two separate cushion chambers; the pressure variation in the cushions has a ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Polymerase Chain Reaction: A New Era in Detection of Periodontopathogens

open access: yesAdvances in Human Biology, 2015
Aim: Various techniques like cultural methods, Immunofluorescence and ELISA have largely been used for studies of microbial ecology. But nowdays PCR is used as a diagnostic tool that can detect even small numbers of periodontal pathogens with a high ...

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Gambaran Status Periodontitis Paska Perawatan Scaling Dan Root Planing Pada Wanita Menopause (Kajian Pada Posyandu Lansia Mawar XII Kelurahan Pajang Kecamatan Laweyan) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Decreased estrogen in postmenopausal women caused problems in the oral cavity, one of which is periodontitis. Prevalence of periodontitis in age >75 years (18,32%) is greater than the age of 65-74 years (13,11%).

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Assessment of ultrasonic root surface scaling with different power settings. roughness evaluation.

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Oral Sciences, 2015
Ultrasonic and curette instrumentation produces a rougher root surface which could be influenced by working parameters such as instrumentation time, pressure and tip angulations.

Twelve Countings with Rooted Plane Trees

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 1997
The author considers twelve parameters that can be defined on rooted plane trees: the number of (1) antichains, (2) maximal antichains, (3) chains, (4) infima closed sets, (5) connected sets, (6) independent sets, (7) maximal independent sets, (8) brooms, (9) matchings, (10) maximal matchings, (11) linear extensions, and (12) drawings in or of a rooted

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.
