Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Effect of rootzone construction on soil physical properties and playing quality of golf greens under New Zealand conditions : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Applied Science in Plant Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A field experiment was designed to examine the effect of five different rootzone constructions (partially amended sand, silt soil, pure sand, fully amended sand and partially amended plus zeolite sand) and aeration methods (untreated control, HydroJect ...

Wound Healing Agents as Root Biomodifiers in Gingival Recession [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Introduction: Gingival recession causes root exposure, aesthetic concerns, and hypersensitivity. Although surgical techniques can achieve root coverage, adjunctive root surface biomodifiers, such as citric acid, Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid (EDTA),

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Unsupervised induction of Arabic root and pattern lexicons using machine learning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We describe an approach to building a morphological analyser of Arabic by inducing a lexicon of root and pattern templates from an unannotated corpus. Using maximum entropy modelling, we capture orthographic features from surface words, and cluster the ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

ROOT SURFACE TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT DURING ROOT CANAL OBTURATION

open access: yesInformatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska
Prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures exceeding 47°C, which can occur during root canal obturation, can cause damage of both dental and bone tissues.
