Practical challenges in data‐driven interpolation: Dealing with noise, enforcing stability, and computing realizations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView., 2023
Summary In this contribution, we propose a detailed study of interpolation‐based data‐driven methods that are of relevance in the model reduction and also in the systems and control communities. The data are given by samples of the transfer function of the underlying (unknown) model, that is, we analyze frequency‐response data.

Effect of rooting hormones and media on vegetative propagation of Bougainvillea

open access: yesOrnamental Horticulture, 2023
The propagation success of bougainvillea through hardwood stem cutting varied with rooting hormones and rooting media. This experiment was carried out to study the effect of rooting hormone and rooting media on hardwood cuttings of Bougainvillea glabra ...

Root growth and soil nitrogen depletion by onion, lettuce, early cabbage and carrot [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Experiments examining root growth, the utilization of N and the effect of green manures were carried out on four vegetable crops. Large differences were observed both in rooting depth penetration rates, and in final rooting depth and distribution.

Comparative Transcriptome Analysis of Latex Reveals Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Increased Rubber Yield in Hevea brasiliensis Self-rooting Juvenile Clone

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) self-rooting juvenile clones (JCs) are promising planting materials for rubber production. In a comparative trial between self-rooting JCs and donor clones (DCs), self-rooting JCs exhibited better performance in rubber ...

Rooting ability of rice seedlings increases with higher soluble sugar content from exposure to light.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Rooting ability of rice seedling for mechanical transplanting has a large impact on grain yield. This study explored the relationship between endogenous soluble sugar content and rooting ability of rice seedlings.

Effects of activated charcoal on rooting of in vitro apple (Malus domestics Borkh.) shoots

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2001
Rooting of in vitro 'Royal Gala' shoots was studied under different conditions of root induction and root elongation phase. The rooting capacity was affected by both rooting phases. Very high rooting percentage could be reached with both liquid and solid

Effect of four plant species on soil 15N-access and herbage yield in temporary agricultural grasslands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Positive plant diversity-productivity relationships have been reported for experimental semi-natural grasslands (Cardinale et al. 2006; Hector et al. 1999; Tilman et al. 1996) as well as temporary agricultural grasslands (Frankow-Lindberg et al.

Effect of rooting area and drinker in the outdoor run on behaviour and Ascaris infection of organic pigs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Hygiene is often a problem on the outdoor runs of growing organic pigs. Manure and urine are mainly excreted outside, but spread all over the run. Reduc-ing the dirty surface may improve well being, reduce ammonia emission, improve hygiene and reduce ...

Influence of natural leaf drop and nutritional status of the stock plant on rooting of peach cuttings

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2003
This study showed that rooting is strongly affected by natural leaf drop occurring during cutting collection. Observations carried out during sampling showed that cultivars with more than 80% leaf drop had lower rooting percentages than cuttings from ...

Ethylene and rooting of mung bean cuttings. The role of auxin induced ethylene synthesis and phase-dependent effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We have re-examined the role of ethylene during rooting of mung bean cuttings. Cuttings were treated for 5 days with a low or a high concentration of NAA (naphthaleneacetic acid).
