Methodologies for Quantifying (Re-)randomization Security and Timing under JIT-ROP

open access: yesConference on Computer and Communications Security, 2019
Just-in-time return-oriented programming (JIT-ROP) allows one to dynamically discover instruction pages and launch code reuse attacks, effectively bypassing most fine-grained address space layout randomization (ASLR) protection.

Indole‐3‐Propionic Acid Improves Alveolar Development Impairment via Targeting VAMP8‐mediated SNAREs Complex Formation in Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study aims to evaluate the impact of the tryptophan‐derived metabolite indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA) on lung development and autophagic flux. IPA alleviates hyperoxia‐induced alveolar arrest by promoting autophagosome‐lysosome fusion via inhibition of VAMP8 phosphorylation, which is suggestive of a promising therapeutic target of BPD.

Optimizing Measurement of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Small Blood Samples of Premature Infants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
To establish a method that allows for the reliable assessment of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF-A) concentrations in very small blood samples of preterm infants. Systemic VEGF measurements are important in view of the most appropriate Anti-VEGF

Biodegradable Carbonate Nanogels Loaded with Anti MFAP‐5 siRNA for Anti‐stromal Therapy of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polycarbonate nanogels enable lipid‐free delivery of anti‐MFAP‐5 siRNA into cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAF) in hepatocellular carcinoma. In a cirrhotic murine model, this approach silences MFAP‐5, reduces fibroblast activation, and suppresses tumor growth by inhibiting NOTCH/Hes1‐driven angiogenesis. CAF‐targeted MFAP‐5 RNAi and conserved signaling

Evolution of classification and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity: A review article

open access: yesTNOA Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research, 2023
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is an ophthalmic condition found in premature infants, characterized by abnormal vascular growth in the retina. This article provides a comprehensive review of ROP, including its historical developments, classification ...

Transforming malicious code to ROP gadgets for antivirus evasion

open access: yesIET Information Security, 2019
This study advances research in offensive technology by proposing return oriented programming (ROP) as a means to achieve code obfuscation. The key inspiration is that ROP's unique structure poses various challenges to malware analysis compared to ...

Soybean Auxin Transporter PIN3 Regulates Nitrate Acquisition to Improve Nitrogen Use and Seed Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Xu et al. discovers that switching off auxin transporters in soybean, PIN3a and PIN3b, disrupts auxin flow; this triggers ARF‐STF3/4 signal cascade to activate the nitrate importer NPF2.13 and soil nitrogen acquisition. Multi‐year field trials show edited soybeans maintain yield with higher oil content, offering a potential genetic route to improve ...

Endothelial nitric oxide synthase gene T-786C and 27-bp repeat gene polymorphisms in retinopathy of prematurity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
PURPOSE: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), which is associated with abnormal retinal vessel development, is the leading cause of visual loss in preterm infants.
