Utilisation of Anthropogenic Food by Red Foxes (<i>Vulpes vulpes</i>) in Britain as Determined by Stable Isotope Analysis. [PDF]

Anthropogenic food consumption has been implicated in poor health outcomes for synanthropes. We used stable isotope analysis on British red fox whiskers to show a distinct diet between rural and urban foxes, where rural and urban fox diets consisted of around 6% and 35% anthropogenic food, respectively.

Social but not solitary bee abundance tracks pollen protein accumulation in forest canopy gaps

Based on ~6500 interactions in canopy gap habitats, bee foraging periods strongly overlapped with floral protein density in large‐bodied, social and aboveground nesting bees, but not in bees of other functional groups. Bee abundance is predicted by nutritional availability.

Livestock rewilding (LR) is the use of herbivorous livestock species to restore ecological functions and trophic complexity in abandoned agricultural landscapes. We assess societal attitudes and awareness of LR in Spain through a questionnaire. Respondents supported LR, but only on the condition of imposing minimum hazards to people and crops.

Different release methods are usually assessed by comparing the movement patterns and survival of released individuals.
