Auxin Regulates Sucrose Transport to Repress Petal Abscission in Rose (Rosa hybrida)[OPEN]

open access: yesThe Plant Cell, 2020
Auxin modulates sucrose transport to repress petal abscission in rose, and this process is regulated by a RhARF7-RhSUC2 module in the abscission zone.

Light and nitrogen nutrition regulate apical control in Rosa hybrida L. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Apical control is defined as the inhibition of basal axillary bud outgrowth by an upper actively growing axillary axis, whose regulation is poorly understood yet differs markedly from the better-known apical dominance. We studied the regulation of apical

Enhancing the vase life of cut roses through spectral optimisation during greenhouse cultivation

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, EarlyView.
Here, we examined three red‐to‐blue (R:B) light emitting diode (LED) ratios (90:10, 80:20 and 70:30) in two cut rose cultivars. All treatments enhanced photosynthesis, with 90:10 showing the strongest effects—raising chlorophyll, carotenoids, anthocyanins and carbohydrate levels, and extending vase life by up to 30%.

How to perform RT-qPCR accurately in plant species?: a case study on flower colour gene expression in an azalea (Rhododendron simsii hybrids) mapping population [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: Flower colour variation is one of the most crucial selection criteria in the breeding of a flowering pot plant, as is also the case for azalea (Rhododendron simsii hybrids).

Lily Transcription Factors LlPLATZ1 and LlMYB4 Orchestrate the Homeostasis of Heat Stress Responses via Antagonistic Regulation of LlHSF24

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Heat stress significantly damages crop yield and quality. PLATZ (PLANT A/T‐RICH SEQUENCE‐AND ZINC‐BINDING PROTEIN) transcription factors play pivotal roles in plant growth, development, and environmental stress responses. While the functions of PLATZ members in response to drought and salt stress are well characterised, their roles in heat ...

Multifaceted roles of BBX transcription factors: impacts on key agronomical traits and environmental resilience

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 2, Page 762-787, April 2026.
Summary B‐box (BBX) proteins were initially characterized as transcription factors connecting light signaling to the regulation of flowering time and seedling photomorphogenesis. However, over the last decade, increasing evidence has shown that they integrate light and hormone signaling, modulating multiple physiological processes during plant life. In
