Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shields consisting of polylactic acid (PLA) in layers with different concentrations of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) are produced using additive manufacturing. The permittivity function of layers with different filler concentrations is learned using data of homogeneous and randomly ordered shields.

Vacuum‐based deposition is promising for perovskite solar cells to be successfully commercialized. However, co‐evaporation, the most common vapor phase deposition technique, suffers from very low deposition rates. In this work, we reveal that high deposition rates can lead to carbon flakes depositing into the perovskite absorber layers due to material ...

Sea‐ice extent is predicted to decrease in a warming climate. However, despite global warming over the past century, total Antarctic sea ice remained relatively stable from 1979 until 2015, before strongly melting.

The Satellite Passive-Microwave Record of Sea Ice in the Ross Sea Since Late 1978 [PDF]
Satellites have provided us with a remarkable ability to monitor many aspects of the globe day-in and day-out and sea ice is one of numerous variables that by now have quite substantial satellite records.

Sea ice and the ocean mixed layer over the Antarctic shelf seas [PDF]
An ocean mixed-layer model has been incorporated into the Los Alamos sea ice model CICE to investigate regional variations in the surface-driven formation of Antarctic shelf waters.

Colossal Cryogenic Electro‐Optic Response Through Metastability in Strained BaTiO3 Thin Films
Utilizing the thermodynamic theory of optical properties, a colossal cryogenic electro‐optic response in BaTiO3 thin films is designed and demonstrated by stabilizing a low symmetry metastable monoclinic phase via epitaxial strain tuning with an electro‐optic response reaching ≈2516 pm V−1 at 5 K. This approach represents a new paradigm for engineering

Trends in the breeding population of Adélie penguins in the Ross Sea, 1981-2012: a coincidence of climate and resource extraction effects. [PDF]
Measurements of the size of Adélie penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae) colonies of the southern Ross Sea are among the longest biologic time series in the Antarctic. We present an assessment of recent annual variation and trends in abundance and growth rates of
