On rotating black holes in DHOST theories [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2020
Using the disformal solution-generating method, we construct new axisymmetric solutions in Degenerate Higher Order Scalar Tensor (DHOST) theories. The method consists in first considering a "seed" known solution in DHOST theories and then performing a disformal transformation of the metric to obtain a new solution.

Effects of (un)usual asymptotics on shadows and lensing of rotating black holes: Numerical and perturbative treatments

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We consider the slowly rotating black hole with non-flat, non-(A)dS asymptotics and the rotating black holes with AdS asymptotics in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton (EMD) theory, and compare the shadows for such black holes with the Kerr-Newman-AdS black ...

The Phase Structure of Higher-Dimensional Black Rings and Black Holes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We construct an approximate solution for an asymptotically flat, neutral, thin rotating black ring in any dimension D>=5 by matching the near-horizon solution for a bent boosted black string, to a linearized gravity solution away from the horizon.

(Quasi-)normal modes of rotating black holes and new solitons in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
In this paper, we analyze the scalar field (quasi-)normal modes of recently derived rotating black holes within the framework of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory at the Chern-Simons point in five dimensions.

Orbital motion and quasi-periodic oscillations with periastron and Lense–Thirring precession of slowly rotating Einstein–Æther black hole

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
We study the orbital and oscillatory motion of test particles moving around slowly rotating first and second kinds of Einstein–Æther black holes. In relation to the black hole parameters, we find analytical solutions for the radial profiles of specific ...

Properties of rotating Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton black holes in odd dimensions

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate rotating Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton (EMd) black holes in odd dimensions. Focusing on black holes with equal-magnitude angular momenta, we determine the domain of existence of these black holes.

Charged rotating black holes in equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity, 2002
Axially symmetric, stationary solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations with disconnected event horizon are studied by developing a method of explicit integration of the corresponding boundary-value problem. This problem is reduced to non-leaner system of algebraic equations which gives relations between the masses, the angular momenta, the angular ...

Fragmentation of AdS5-Kerr black holes

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2022
Black hole spacetimes asymptotic to five-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime are of great interest in connection with the string-gauge duality. In the rotating case, such black holes tend to become unstable, in several different ways, if their specific ...

Coalescence of Rotating Black Holes on Eguchi-Hanson Space

open access: yes, 2007
We obtain new charged rotating multi-black hole solutions on the Eguchi-Hanson space in the five-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell system with a Chern-Simons term and a positive cosmological constant.

Instability and new phases of higher-dimensional rotating black holes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
It has been conjectured that higher-dimensional rotating black holes become unstable at a sufficiently large value of the rotation, and that new black holes with pinched horizons appear at the threshold of the instability. We search numerically, and find,
