In Situ Contact Angle Measurement for Autonomous Spin Coating in Self‐Driving Labs
A vision‐based add‐on transforms commercial spin coaters into autonomous modules of Self‐Driving Labs. Combining a width‐scaled U‐Net with classical geometric analysis, the system simultaneously measures contact angles and estimates substrate pose using a single camera.

Trailing edge noise prediction for rotating serrated blades
Serrations have been widely studied in the case of stationary blades, as an efficient method for reducing trailing edge noise. However, most of the problems involving trailing edge noise are related to rotating blades and it is not known how rotation ...

A NASTRAN primer for the analysis of rotating flexible blades
This primer provides documentation for using MSC NASTRAN in analyzing rotating flexible blades. The analysis of these blades includes geometrically nonlinear (large displacement) analysis under centrifugal loading, and frequency and mode shape (normal ...

Development of an aeroelastic stability boundary for a rotor in autorotation [PDF]
<p>For the present study, a mathematical model AMRA was created to simulate the aeroelastic behaviour of a rotor during autorotation. Our model: Aeroelastic Model of a Rotor in Autorotation (AMRA) captures transverse bending and teeter ...

ABSTRACT In chocolate‐coated products, oil migration can lead to chocolate softening and discoloration, filling hardening, and reduced consumer acceptance. This study examined three fats (soy‐, palm‐, and palm‐kernel (PK) based), crystallized under different conditions (cooling rate and high intensity ultrasound (HIU)) with differing oil binding ...

ABSTRACT This study systematically investigates the cavitation characteristics of a novel sleeve‐shaft counterrotating (SSCR) hydrodynamic cavitation reactor using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Based on the RANS framework combined with the SST k–ω turbulence model and the Zwart–Gerber–Belamri cavitation model, the temporal–spatial evolution of ...

Kevlar is traditionally modeled as a rigid‐rod polymer, yet rheological behavior deviates from this assumption. The review introduces a novel “twist‐tie” entanglement theory for aramid polymer chains in the nematic liquid crystal state, providing a molecular explanation for deviations from rigid‐rod models. Understanding twist‐tie entanglement dynamics

Simulation of Flexible Mechanisms in a Rotating Blade for Smart-Blade Applications
The active Gurney flap technology is investigated to improve the performance of rotorblades by allowing helicopter blades to further control the lift unbalance that rises at high speed and by damping vibration loads on the rotor hub. This technology needs validation by wind tunnel testing of a scaled model blade under rotational loading.

Spectral analysis of unsteady flow simulation in a small VAWT [PDF]
The vertical axis wind turbine studied in this paper combine two rotations: one rotating movement of each blade around its own axis and one rotating movement around turbine’s axis.

Abstract The complex evolutionary history behind modern mammalian chewing performance and hearing function is a result of several changes in the entire skeletomuscular system of the skull and lower jaw. Lately, exciting multifunctional 3D analytical methods and kinematic simulations of feeding functions in both modern and fossil mammals and their ...
