Nonlinear Analysis of Rotating Stall
A new stall model to describe rotating stall in axial flow compressors is established, where blade rows are replaced by semi-actuator discs (finite chord and infinitesimal pitch), flow fluctuations are permitted to be finite and nonsteady, and cascade characteristics are taken into consideration in both nonlinear and nonsteady forms.

Diversifying aquaculture species is essential for building resilience in the face of climate change, particularly as warming oceans challenge existing production systems. In New Zealand's Marlborough Sounds, rising sea temperatures are making finfish (e.g.

Impacts of rodents in piggeries in Australia – review and pilot impact study
Rodent impacts in Australian piggeries are under‐researched, with limited data on economic losses and control costs. A review and pilot study found average losses of AUD$100 000 annually. Key concerns include disease, damage, and control expenses.

Comparison of two- and three-dimensional flow computations with laser anemometer measurements in a transonic compressor rotor [PDF]
Two and three dimensional inviscid solutions for the flow in a transonic axial compressor rotor at design speed are compared with probe and laser anemometers measurements at near-stall and maximum-flow operating points.

ABSTRACT In this article we examine how rural‐to‐urban migrant factory workers in two of Vietnam's industrial zones actively construct livelihood stability and pursue future aspirations while dealing with structurally precarious work environments. We develop a multi‐scalar conceptual framework combining key ideas regarding livelihood trajectories ...

Segmented Gurney Flaps for Improved Wind Turbine Wake Recovery
ABSTRACT When wind passes through the rotor of a wind turbine, the velocity is decreased while turbulence is increased. The region of decreased wind speed behind the rotor is known as the wind turbine wake and is bounded by a complex structure of helical vortices. This structure occurs to be more stable in low ambient turbulence and low tip speed ratio

Attitudes to possessions in emerging adults: Predictors of hoarding behaviours and beliefs
Abstract Objective Although hoarding symptoms are chronic and the average onset is late adolescence, younger cohorts have received little attention in research. Given the insidious symptom trajectory of hoarding and the unsatisfactory treatment outcomes in clinical groups, comprehensive research focusing on younger participants may reveal insights and ...

Analysis of fully stalled compressor [PDF]
An analysis yields a model for energy transfer in compressor stages operating in the closed-throttle condition. The derivation indicates that three geometry parameters (hub/tip ration, aspect ration, and rotor blade setting angle) influence the values of
