Declining rotation curves - The end of a conspiracy?

New observations of H I rotation curves at the Very Large Array have uncovered two galaxies with rotation curves declining between 1 and 3 optical radii. The velocity decrease is large, more than 50 km s-1 (approximately 25% of the maximum rotation velocity), and is present on both sides of the galaxies; projection effects can be ruled out.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
