Background: To optimize patients' functional external rotation outcomes, reverse total shoulder arthroplasties (rTSAs) including a latissimus dorsi tendon transfer were undertaken with promising early results and no significant increase in complications ...

Generalizing the MOND description of rotation curves [PDF]
We present new mathematical alternatives for explaining rotation curves of spiral galaxies in the MOND context. For given total masses, it is shown that various mathematical alternatives to MOND, while predicting flat rotation curves for large galactic radii, predict curves with different peculiar features for smaller radii.

Optical Activities as Computing Resources for Space-time Symmetries
It is known that optical activities can perform rotations. It is shown that the rotation, if modulated by attenuations, can perform symmetry operations of Wigner's little group which dictates the internal space-time symmetries of elementary particles ...

A mathematical approach to Wick rotations
In this thesis we define Wick-rotations mathematically using pseudo-Riemannian geometry, and relate Wick-rotations to real geometric invariant theory (GIT). We discover some new results concerning the existence of Wick rotations (of various signatures).

Mathematization of rotation as a didactic task [PDF]
The inspiration for observation was an idea of getting movement to a static school geometry. In the school curriculum, the only area where you can consciously refer to the movement are questions related to isometrics. I took the premise that the mathematization of movement should be based on student perceptions related to the physical movement of ...

Satisfiability Parsimoniously Reduces to the Tantrix(TM) Rotation Puzzle Problem
Holzer and Holzer (Discrete Applied Mathematics 144(3):345--358, 2004) proved that the Tantrix(TM) rotation puzzle problem is NP-complete. They also showed that for infinite rotation puzzles, this problem becomes undecidable.

MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF AN ELONGATED MAGNETIC DROPLET IN A ROTATING MAGNETIC FIELD
Dynamics of an elongated droplet under the action of a rotating magnetic field is considered by mathematical modelling. The actual shape of a droplet is obtained by solving the initial-boundary value problem of a nonlinear singularly perturbed partial differential equation (PDE).

Mastering fractions and innovating with the station rotation model in blended learning
This study explores the effectiveness of the Station Rotation Model (SRM) in adding and subtracting fractions. A mixed-method design was conducted through convenience sampling of 31 students from Year 9.

A Wick-rotatable metric is purely electric [PDF]
We show that a metric of arbitrary dimension and signature which allows for a standard Wick-rotation to a Riemannian metric necessarily has a purely electric Riemann and Weyl tensor.
