Gastrointestinal nematodes (GIN) are increasingly resistant to anthelmintic drugs worldwide, so integrated control methods are more and more needed for the sustainability of small ruminant farming. Such methods rely on knowledge in epidemiology, physiology, and genetics.

A Comparison between rotational grazing and set stocking with ewes and lambs at three stocking rates
SUMMARYIn 1972 a comparison was made between rotational creep grazing (R—8 paddocks) and set stocking (S—2 paddocks) for ewes and their twin lambs at 3 stocking rates viz. 20 (H), 17 (M) and 14 (L) ewes/ha.The herbage intakes/kg live weight of the R ewes were similar to those of the S ewes in period 1 (c. 7th week of lactation) but higher i n period 2 (

‘Maton’ cereal rye (Secale cereale L.) and ‘TAM-90’ annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) are used for winter annual pastures to background stocker cattle in the southeastern US. Rye and ryegrass were sod-seeded into bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] pastures and fixed-stocked at different rates under continuous and 8-paddock rotation ...

AbstractData on sheep live weights, herbage standing crop and herbage quality are presented from a 3‐year grazing management study comparing set stocking, four‐paddock rotational grazing and four‐paddock forward rotational grazing systems. In both rotational grazing and forward rotational grazing systems, sheep were sequentially moved from one paddock ...

Optimization of handouts for rolling stock rotations
Journal of Rail Transport Planning & Management, 2019Abstract A railway operator creates (rolling stock) rotations in order to have a precise master plan for the operation of a timetable by railway vehicles. A rotation is considered as a cycle that multiply traverses a set of operational days while covering trips of the timetable.

Integrated Optimization of Rolling Stock Rotations for Intercity Railways
Transportation Science, 2016This paper proposes a highly integrated solution approach for rolling stock planning problems in the context of long distance passenger traffic between cities. The main contributions are a generic hypergraph-based mixed-integer programming model for the considered rolling stock rotation problem and an integrated algorithm for its solution.
