Main rotor-tail rotor intraction and its implications for helicopter directional control [PDF]
Aerodynamic interference between the main and tail rotor can have a strong negative influence on the flight mechanics of a conventional helicopter. Significant unsteadiness in the tail rotor loading is encountered under certain flight conditions, but the

Tilting-Pad Journal Bearings—Frequency-Dependent Dynamic Coefficients and Pivot Flexibility Effects
Tribologists have generally accepted that the dynamic modeling of tilting-pad journal bearings (TPJB) must consider the frequency dependency of the dynamic properties.

Splitting of Waves in Rotor-in-Rotor Nonlocal Metamaterials by Internal Rotor Coupling
Mechanical metamaterials can be used to control wave propagation because they are flexibly adjustable. In this paper, a one-dimensional rotor-in-rotor metamaterial with internal rotor coupling is proposed. This metamaterial introduces a new connection between lattices into a rotor-in-rotor system to produce a nonlocal metamaterial.

Thermal Bending of the Rotor Due to Rotor-to-Stator Rub
The rotor thermal bending due to the rotor-to-stator rubbing can lead to one of three types of observed rotor lateral motion: (1) spiral with increasing amplitude, (2) oscillating between rub]no-rub conditions, and (3) asymptotical approach to the rotor ...

Dynamics of Anisotropically Supported Rotors
The paper discusses dynamic effects occurring in machinery rotors supported in bearings and pedestals with laterally different characteristics. In the considered rotor model the anisotropy of radial stiffness and tangential (“cross”) stiffness components
