Ceiling Effect on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of Multi-Rotor Systems and Its Modeling
The ceiling effect, a phenomenon in which rotor thrust increases near a ceiling wall, holds significant potential for applications in energy-efficient drones and aerial manipulation.

Measurement of airfoil heat transfer coefficients on a turbine stage [PDF]
A turbulence generating grid was designed and installed in the turbine inlet which produced the target nominal value of 10 percent free stream turbulence.

Stacked nanoflake assembly (SNA) membranes can oscillate autonomously, offering opportunities for soft actuation and energy harvesting. This work uncovers the physical mechanism behind the sustained oscillation of SNA membranes in gradient humidity and identifies three governing dimensionless parameters, enabling rational design for optimizing SNA ...

Noise of a model counterrotation propeller with reduced aft rotor diameter at simulated takeoff/approach conditions (F7/A3) [PDF]
A model high-speed advanced counterrotation propeller, F7/A3, was tested in the NASA Lewis Research Center 9 by 15 foot Anechoic Wind Tunnel at simulated takeoff/approach conditions of 0.2 Mach number.

Simulating wind turbine interactions using the vorticity transport equations [PDF]
The aerodynamic interactions that can occur within a wind farm result in the constituent turbines generating a lower power output than would be possible if each of the turbines were operated in isolation.

Anderson transition in a three dimensional kicked rotor
We investigate Anderson localization in a three dimensional (3d) kicked rotor. By a finite size scaling analysis we have identified a mobility edge for a certain value of the kicking strength $k = k_c$. For $k > k_c$ dynamical localization does not occur,

Pathological Behavior in the Spectral Statistics of the Asymmetric Rotor Model [PDF]
The aim of this work is to study the spectral statistics of the asymmetric rotor model (triaxial rigid rotator). The asymmetric top is classically integrable and, according to the Berry-Tabor theory, its spectral statistics should be Poissonian ...

This study examines how a PVDF‐like binder affects the argyrodite Li6PS5Cl electrolyte properties. Using an approach that combines bulk and surface characterization with electrochemistry, we found a chemical interaction between Li6PS5Cl and PVDF, resulting in partial chlorine substitution by fluorine and slightly reduced ionic conductivity.

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...
