Estimating residual unbalances of a flexible rotor that is fully levitated on active magnetic bearings (AMBs) are challenging tasks due to the modeling error of AMB rotordynamic parameters. In this work, an identification algorithm has been developed for the estimation of dynamic parameters of speed-dependent AMBs and residual unbalances in a high ...

Rotor Position and Speed Estimation
2018Abstract The ultimate importance of rotor position and speed information in permanent magnet synchronous (PMS) machines control, and the industry interest to the rotor and speed sensorless systems as a cost-saving and practical alternative to the motor control with mechanical sensors are emphasized.

The Calculation of the Rotor Critical Speed of Turbopump
Advanced Materials Research, 2012With the rotor structure ofturbopump, using a one-dimensional finite element method, considering the mass of shaft, gyroscopic effect and influence of shearing deformation,establishedtheone-dimensional rotor dynamics finite element model, calculated its six rank of the critical speed, and compared the gyroscopic effect and mass of shaft to the ...

This paper proposes a speed-sensorless induction motor control system using a rotor speed compensation with the rotor flux error. The rotor flux observer using the reduced-dimensional state estimator technique instead of directly measuring the rotor flux indirectly estimates the rotor flux.

Non-linear effect in high speed rotor noise
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1982Abstract The noise radiated by a high speed rotor is strongly influenced by non-linear air flows near the tip. These non-linearities are made susceptible to analysis by first approximating the full equation by one in which the most significant non-linear term is retained.

A prediction of high-speed rotor noise
12th Aeroacoustic Conference, 1989A combined computational (CFD) and integral approach solves the acoustic pressure fields of two high-speed helicopter rotors. A CFD code supplies boundary data to a non-linear type of Kirchhoff integral formulation to find the far-field pressures. Direct calculations of pressures are given by the CFD code up to the sonic cylinder where the Kirchhoff ...

Passage of a Rotor Through a Critical Speed
Journal of Mechanical Design, 1982This paper deals with a nonstationary oscillation of a rotor passing through a critical speed. The analysis is based on the method of multiple scales and the method of matched asymptotic expansion. The peak amplitude of the response and the criteria for the onset of the stalling (inability to pass through the critical speed) are derived.
